Reception

Kelley Busby and Bess WilsonReceptionist Kelly Busby has been with May Veterinary since June of 2008 and has been working with animals professionally since 2006. She is also our Accounts Manager and works with clients and their pets. She's an excellent multi-tasker and helps keep the many moving parts of the clinic running smoothly. "Time is not something the vets have to spare, so by helping out where I am needed is an attribute," Kelly said about her day-to-day responsibilities. She's also pleasant and adds humor to the clinic every day.

"I enjoy the staff and veterinarians that I work with," Kelly said. "It's a fun and accomodating work environment and the animals make every day incredibly interesting."

Kelly has a degree in English/Language Arts from Birmingham Southern College.

She has two dachshunds named Porter and Sugar, and three crazy cats named Scrappy Cat, Hopps, and Orangeness. She enjoys playing tennis, and spending time with her husband Sid, and daughter Reed.

Receptionist Bess Wilson has been with May Veterinary since November of 1973 - almost 40 years. She is the absolute best when it comes to greeting clients and checking them in and out. She still enjoys meeting new clients and their pets.

Bess spends some of her time with her three pets; one dog named Ollie and two cats named Chubbs and Harley. Her hobbies include watching the Atlanta Braves, spending time with her three grandchildren, going to yard sales and on trips.

Technician

Tasha Morrow-NevelsVeterinarian technician Tasha Morrow-Nevels is dedicated to making all our patients as happy and healthy as they can be. Tasha assists in the exam and surgery rooms, helps educate our clients, performs in-house lab work, dentals, cytologies and maintains inventory.

"I enjoy working at May Veterinary because I learn something new every day working with multiple veterinarians," she said. "All of the doctors I work with have such a caring heart for the welfare of the animals and that is highly motivating."

Tasha graduated from the University of Alabama in 2009 with degrees in Biology and Chemistry. She has been with May Veterinary since May of 2002 and she also assists her father at his cattle farm in Greene County. Tasha is a member of the ASPCA. She has three cats, eight dogs and a bearded dragon named Blaze. Tasha enjoys spending her free time with family, her pets, shopping, fishing, hunting, watching movies, exercising, and paintballing.

Veterinary Assistants

Blake Simmons and Gary RoysterVeterinary assistant Blake Simmons has been with us since 2009. He's a great communicator and is always there when our patients need him. Blake helps care for our boarders and hospitalized patients, keeps the clinic clean and assists in the exam and surgery rooms.

"I was first a client of May Veterinary for several years, having always been very pleased with the service and care I received from the doctors and staff. Having so many animals I obviously have a love for them and thought it would be enjoyable to work at a veterinary hospital," Blake said about how he came to work with us. "I applied and was hired and have loved working with the doctors and staff. I am very proud of the care that we provide for our client's pets."

Blake shares his home with Stinky, a mixed breed canine who also comes to work with him each day. He spends some of his spare time hiking, climbing and canoeing.

Kennel and veterinary assistant Gary Royster Jr. has been with us since February of 2008. He has a great sense of humor and is able to handle all types of animals well. He also assists the doctors and the other technicians during examinations, treatments and surgeries.

"I enjoy the friendly working environment here," Gary said of May Veterinary. "Our clients are always very appreciative for helping them with their animals."

Gary enjoys landscape maintenance, working out, shooting pool and is a member of the local volunteer fire department.

Krista PackAs one of the newest members of the May Veterinary team, Krista Pack works as a veterinary assistant at our May Veterinary Hospital location.

Krista says she "loves working with the veterinarians in the exam room and interacting with both the boarding and hospitalized pets."

Krista is currently pursuing a career in veterinary medicine and plans to attend Mississippi State University's College of Veterinary Medicine.

Krista spends her free time swimming, hiking, horseback riding and anything that involves the outdoors.

Alex StoneAlex Stone is also new to the May Veterinary team, working as a veterinary assistant at our May Veterinary Hospital location.

"I love knowing that I am making a difference by helping those that cannot take care of themselves." says Alex. Alex plans to attend veterinary technician school in the near future.

She spends her free time horseback riding and taking care of 8 dogs and 8 horses.
