May Veterinary Northridge

Reception

Kelly BusbyReceptionist Kelly Busby has been with May Veterinary since June of 2008 and has been working with animals professionally since 2006. She is also our Accounts Manager and works with clients and their pets. She's an excellent multi-tasker and helps keep the many moving parts of the clinic running smoothly. "Time is not something the vets have to spare, so by helping out where I am needed is an attribute," Kelly said about her day-to-day responsibilities. She's also pleasant and adds humor to the clinic every day.

"I enjoy the staff and veterinarians that I work with," Kelly said. "It's a fun and accomodating work environment and the animals make every day incredibly interesting."

Kelly has a degree in English/Language Arts from Birmingham Southern College.

She has two dachshunds named Porter and Sugar, and three crazy cats named Scrappy Cat, Hopps, and Orangeness. She enjoys playing tennis, and spending time with her husband Sid, and daughter Reed.

Tasha MarshallReceptionist Tasha Marshall recently joined the May Veterinary team at the Northridge location. Tasha has been a client of May Veterinary for the last year and after experiencing the care and service provided by the May Veterinary staff she knew she wanted to be a part of it.

Tasha says "the most enjoyable part of my job is seeing the smiles of the satisfied clients and the tail wags of the happy pets."

Tasha grew up around all kinds of animals, including horses, cows, goats and rabbits. She enjoys spending her free time with her 3 dogs, Chaz, Duke and Pretty Girl.

Technician

Kim RomainVeterinary Technician Kim Romain performs a variety of tasks at the clinic, including assisting the vets, taking radiographs, performing bloodwork, placing IV catheters, trauma management, laser therapy, inventory management, employee scheduling and client education. She has been with May Veterinary since 2005 and has been working in animal-related fields for the past 20 years.

"I enjoy the rapport with my peers and colleagues. I also appreciate the professionalism that is evident in our practice," she said about what makes May Veterinary unique. "The dedication to providing the best care to the animals and their owners is very evident. I also like working with veterinarians that have extensive medical knowledge and the ability to perform difficult and challenging medical and surgical procedures."

Kim shares her home with a small menagerie that includes: a horse named Mule; a goat named Reuben; 8 cats and 11 dogs. Her labrador Bingo comes to work with her every day. She is a member of the Delta Society for Therapy Dogs.

Kim enjoys horseback riding, fishing, volunteer work with the fire department and working with and training animals.

Veterinary Assistants

Ashley ParkerVeterinary assistant Ashley Parker helps care for our boarders during their stays with us, gives baths to our canine and feline patients, assists in the exam rooms, preps patients, and assists in surgery. Ashley is always reliable and has a great personality. She has been with us since May of 2008 and has worked in animal related fields since 2004.

"I really enjoy working with the entire staff," Ashley said. "It is very obvious that everyone employed here genuinely cares for and loves animals."

Ashley has a chihuahua named Peanut, a miniature pinscher named Mini, and a mixed breed named Archie. She enjoys spending time with her friends and being outdoors and exercising.

Veterinary assistant Pam Grider has been with May Veterinary since September of 2009 and has worked professionally with animals for more than 15 years. Pam helps care for the boarding animals by walking, feeding and bathing them, as well as assisting the veterinary technicians and helping prep for surgery.

"I enjoy working at May Veterinary because of the great people employed here," she said. "The doctors are willing to teach you new procedures. I also enjoy getting to care for many different breeds of dogs and cats and also to learn about them."

Pam has five dogs, all blue and red heelers, two walking horses and a cat. She enjoys all sports, hiking, horseback riding, swimming and attending Florida Gator sporting events.

Anna-Michael OakleyAnna-Michael Oakley joined our team at May Veterinary in January of 2012, and works as a veterinary assistant at our Northridge location. She is currently a sophomore at the University of Alabama, and plans to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine.

"I love the family atmosphere we have here at May Veterinary," says Anna-Michael. "We always work as a team and are all very passionate about caring for our clients and their pets."

Anna-Michael enjoys spending time on the lake and playing with her two dogs, Bella, a toy poodle, and Ellie, Pomeranian.

Groomer

Martina RigneyGroomer Martina Rigney has been with us since March of 2011. She is a member of the National Dog Groomer Association.

"We have a great environment and great staff," Martina said about life at the clinic. "We have very knowledgeable veterinarians." She said she is eager to "learn as much as possible about the medical side of pet care."

Martina also speaks German and some Italian. She spends some of her spare time with four dogs: a peekapoo named Louie, a maltipoo called Teddy, a chow mix named Bandit and Lucky, a mixed-breed dog. Her hobbies include baking, cooking, gardening, reading, traveling, watching movies, listening to classical music, and bookkeeping for her husband's business.
